Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA on every page of this site.
What we check
We check each step of a booking: finding a session, the session page, the register form and the payment confirmation. An automated check opens each step in a real browser (Chromium) and checks it:
- with a keyboard alone: the first Tab reaches the "Skip to content" link and Enter moves focus to the page's content, the register form is filled in and sent in order with a visible focus ring on each field, and its errors come back as a summary that links to each field
- at phone width, from 320 pixels: no sideways scrolling, and every button and every link that stands on its own is at least 44 pixels tall
- against the page's headings, labels and landmarks, read from the browser's accessibility tree, which is what a screen reader uses: one main heading, a label on every form field, and the landmarks (the header, the main and footer navigation, the main content and the footer)
A check of the page code covers the same pages, plus About, Terms and refunds, Privacy and this statement: the page language, one main heading with no skipped heading levels, a label on every field, text and a size on every image, unique ids, and the same landmarks.
Known gaps
Three parts of a booking use software we don't write:
- the bot check on the register form is Cloudflare Turnstile
- payment happens on Stripe's checkout page
- the video room is Jitsi Meet, whose controls follow Jitsi's own accessibility support
