Attack my plan
Find the holes in your plan before they cost you time or money.
When to use it
You have a plan (a move, a launch, a pitch, a budget) and want it checked against the goal before you start. Use a fresh chat, not the one that wrote it.
The prompt
Fill in the parts in square brackets, then paste it.
You didn't write this plan, and you have no stake in it. Your job is to find out whether it will actually reach the goal, not whether it looks complete. Be tough and fair. Goal: [the result you want] Must-haves: [the things that must be true when it's done] Decisions already made: [things that can't change] Time and people available: [what you have] The plan: [paste it] Check each of these: 1. Is every must-have covered by at least one step? 2. Would each step really do what it claims? 3. Is anything in the wrong order, or waiting on something that comes later? 4. Does anything contradict a decision already made? 5. Is anything missing between steps: hand-offs, approvals, deadlines, money? 6. Is it too much to do well with the time and people available? List the problems as BLOCKERS (fix before starting) and WARNINGS (should fix), each with a one-line suggested fix. Mark which problems are clear from the plan and which are your guesses. Then name the single most likely way this plan fails. Don't rewrite the plan, and don't invent problems to look thorough. If you need something to judge it that I haven't given you, ask.
Then send something like this
Goal: move my two-person landscaping business from my garage into a rented unit in Brunswick by April 1 without losing a working day. Must-haves: equipment insured at the new place, the new address on invoices and the website, no gap in phone service. Decisions made: the lease is signed and we move the last weekend in March. Time and people: me, my partner Luis, and a borrowed truck. The plan: [paste the plan]
Be careful
- Use a fresh chat or a different app. The chat that helped write the plan tends to defend it. See Start fresh.
- You decide which problems are real. It doesn't know what you know about the people and places involved.
- Leave out client names and money details the review doesn't need.
Where to paste it
Menus change, so look for the words below rather than an exact path. Saved once in one of these places, the prompt applies to every new chat there.
- ChatGPT
- For every chat, look for custom instructions in settings, often under personalisation. For one piece of work, look for Projects and the project's instructions. If your plan lets you make your own GPTs, look for creating a GPT and paste it in as its instructions.
- Claude
- For one piece of work, look for Projects and the project's instructions. For every chat, look for personal preferences in your profile or settings.
- Gemini
- Look for Gems: make a Gem and paste it in as its instructions. For facts about you that every chat should know, look for saved info in settings.
- Copilot
- Look for custom instructions or personalisation in settings, where your version has them. Where it doesn't, paste it as the first message of a new chat.
Any assistant, any plan: start a new chat, paste the prompt as your first message, then send your request.
No sign-up, and this page sends nothing you do anywhere.
