Handoff note

A fill-in note to start a fresh chat or hand work to someone.

The handoff note gives you six boxes: where things stand, done, still to do, decisions and why, what you're stuck on, and the very next step. Fill them in and copy out a short note that lets a new chat, a colleague or you next week pick up exactly where you left off. It's the note from Start fresh, with a handoff note.

It runs on this page and sends nothing: what you type stays on your device. Copy or print the result when you're done.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the boxes in your own words. Short is better: the note works best on less than a page.
  2. Write the reason next to each decision, so nobody reopens it.
  3. Make the next step specific enough to start without reading anything else.
  4. Copy the note. To carry on in AI, open a new chat, paste it and ask it to start on the next step. To hand it to a person, paste it into an email or print it.

It works on paper too: print it blank and fill it in by hand. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere. Reload the page and it's gone.

No sign-up. This tool runs in your browser: this page makes no network requests, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere.
