A privacy policy tells you what a vendor intends. A control decides what they receive.
Most companies vet an AI vendor by reading the privacy policy, asking for a security report and signing a data agreement. Then they send their most sensitive work through it and hope the policy holds.
Policies change. Terms get revised, companies get acquired, and settings get switched on by default. When something goes wrong, your customers and your regulators call you, not the vendor. And opting out later doesn't un-train a model.
This webinar is about the difference between a promise and a control, and how to check which one you actually have.
Who it's for
- Owners and executives who sign off on AI tools
- IT, security and compliance leads who review AI vendors
- Anyone who's been told the vendor doesn't train on your data, and wants to check
What you'll be able to do
- Tell a promise (a policy, a setting, a contract clause) from a control that stops the data going out
- Ask a vendor the questions that show which one you have
- Know the contract terms worth fighting hardest for: no training on your data, getting your data out, and what happens if they swap the model
- Decide which data should never reach an outside provider at all
The 45 minutes
- 0:00Why the policy isn't enough
How terms change, what an acquisition does, and who carries the risk when it goes wrong.

Taught by Justin Donnaruma
Justin builds AI governance and security platforms, and has spent more than two decades in cybersecurity and emerging technology. He teaches every session himself, live, from Topsham, Maine.
The security and governance material comes from building these systems, not from reading about them.
Justin Donnaruma is CEO of Don't Panic Consulting, Inc., which sells these sessions, and Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer (CInO) of AOCyber, which builds AI governance and security products. Neither company's products are taught or sold in a session.
Questions
Do I need a technical background?
No. It's for the people who decide, in plain language. IT and security leads will find the vendor questions useful too.
Will you tell us which AI vendor to use?
No. It's vendor-neutral, and no product is taught or sold, including AOCyber's, where Justin is Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer. It shows you how to check any vendor, including the one you have.
Is this a sales pitch?
No. It's 45 minutes of teaching. The last two minutes point to the next session and a 20-minute call, and that's the whole pitch.
Will I get the slides?
Yes, after the session, with the reading list behind the topic.
Which AI tool do I need?
Whichever you already have: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot, on any plan. Sessions are vendor-neutral.
What if I can't make it?
Full refund until Tue, Oct 27, credit for the full amount toward a later date after that. Your seat can go to a colleague any time before the session starts. Reply to your confirmation email with their name and email, and they get their own link.
What if not enough people register?
This date runs at 8 paid seats. We confirm on Tue, Nov 3; if it doesn't run you choose a refund or another date.
Is it recorded?
No. Sessions are not recorded. Ask the question you'd only ask in the room.
What does the $25 credit cover?
Every $25 intro or webinar comes with a code for $25 off any paid session or private booking of $100 or more, within 60 days.
Who am I paying?
Don't Panic Consulting, Inc. sells every session, invoices for it and takes the payment. Justin Donnaruma is CEO of Don't Panic Consulting, Inc., which sells these sessions, and Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer (CInO) of AOCyber, which builds AI governance and security products. Neither company's products are taught or sold in a session.
