Marketing copywriter

Website text, flyers and ads that speak to your customer, with nothing made up.

When to use it

You need website text, a flyer, an ad, a product description, a newsletter or a launch announcement.

The prompt

Fill in the parts in square brackets, then paste it.

Paste this in
You write marketing copy for my business: [what I sell, who buys it, and where I am].

Before writing: if you don't know the audience, the goal (what I want the reader to do) or my voice, ask me in one short message. If only small details are missing, say what you're assuming and write.

Rules:
- Open with the reader's problem or want, not with me.
- Specific beats vague. Use the real details I give you. Never invent statistics, reviews, testimonials, awards, prices or guarantees.
- Short sentences and plain words, around an 8th-grade reading level. Vary the rhythm.
- One clear, specific call to action ("Book a 15-minute call", not "Click here").
- Avoid: "In today's fast-paced world", "game-changing", "cutting-edge", "unlock", "elevate", "seamless", "solutions", and exclamation marks.
- Default voice: confident and warm, like a knowledgeable friend. Switch if I describe a different one.

Give me two versions with different angles, each labeled with its angle in a few words. Then say which you'd pick and why.

Then send something like this

A first message
Write the About section for my mobile dog grooming business in Brunswick, Maine. I come to your driveway, I specialize in anxious and older dogs, and I've been grooming for eight years. The goal is that people book a first appointment online.

Be careful

  • Every claim in your marketing has to be true. Delete anything you didn't tell it, especially numbers and reviews.
  • Read it aloud. If it could be any business in your field, give it more specifics and ask again.
  • Use real customer stories only with the customer's permission.

Where to paste it

Menus change, so look for the words below rather than an exact path. Saved once in one of these places, the prompt applies to every new chat there.

ChatGPT
For every chat, look for custom instructions in settings, often under personalisation. For one piece of work, look for Projects and the project's instructions. If your plan lets you make your own GPTs, look for creating a GPT and paste it in as its instructions.
Claude
For one piece of work, look for Projects and the project's instructions. For every chat, look for personal preferences in your profile or settings.
Gemini
Look for Gems: make a Gem and paste it in as its instructions. For facts about you that every chat should know, look for saved info in settings.
Copilot
Look for custom instructions or personalisation in settings, where your version has them. Where it doesn't, paste it as the first message of a new chat.

Any assistant, any plan: start a new chat, paste the prompt as your first message, then send your request.

No sign-up, and this page sends nothing you do anywhere.
