Decision card

A one-minute decision summary from a tangled choice.

The decision card lays a choice out on one card: the decision in one line, why it matters and by when, two or three options with what's good and bad about each, your pick with the reason, and what happens next. Someone who missed the whole discussion can decide from it in a minute, and so can you.

It runs on this page and sends nothing: what you type stays on your device. Copy or print the result when you're done.

How to use it

  1. Write the decision as one question: “Which quote do we accept?”, not “the kitchen”.
  2. Add only real options. A third option that nobody would choose just adds reading.
  3. Write the cons as honestly as the pros. Then make your pick and give the reason in one line.
  4. Copy or print the card, and share it with whoever decides with you.

It works on paper too: print it blank and fill it in by hand. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere. Reload the page and it's gone.

No sign-up. This tool runs in your browser: this page makes no network requests, and nothing you choose is sent anywhere.
